About Juma, your birding guide

Jambo, I’m Juma, but most people around here call me “Juma Nature” because of my love for everything wild and natural. I grew up right here in Lamu, spending my days exploring the island’s beautiful birds, insects, trees, and other plants and animals. Over time, I learned how to track creatures in their natural habitats and understand how they live.

 

I’ve enjoyed travelling to some amazing places in Kenya, like Tsavo, Maasai Mara, Amboseli, and other conservancies. I’ve seen so much wildlife and learned a lot about how nature works. I even volunteered in bird ringing projects in Tsavo with A Rocha Kenya, where I got hands-on experience studying birds and their movements.

 

Now, I’m back home in Lamu, and my goal is to help protect nature here while sharing it with others. I love showing people the amazing birdlife, mangroves, and culture of this special place. Whether you’re a bird lover, a traveler, or just someone who wants to enjoy the outdoors, I’d love to take you on a journey through Lamu’s wild side.
